We are surrounded by our planetary Ancestors - from the air we breathe to the ground we walk on. We are the outcome of every Ancestor who has ever been, and is yet to come. Visual Medicine™is a radically simple, visionary, step-by-step painting practice that does not use brushes. The process will allow you to enter the timeless flow of Ancestral energy that surrounds us. The images that emerge from working with Visual Medicine are reflections of the underlying forms and patterns in creation itself which in turn give a visual access to the vastness of our many Ancestors. These timeless Guides, Allies and Wise Ones exist within everyone and everything - and are waiting to paint with us.
Visual Medicine™ is a portal to the Ancestral dimensions held within us, and the body of the world. We are a living library of all that has been and all that is yet to come. Our bodies are ancestral sanctuaries to multitudes of microscopic cellular life forms that live symbiotically and sympathetically alongside us and with us. We are the outcome of the trillions of other lives that have occurred before us.
We are here because of everyone and everything who have collided into life and created this invitation for us now…
We have multitudes of Ancestors…
Visual Medicine™ is a visual conversation that connects us with our Ancestor roots. The images are open channels for the multitudes of our Ancestors: our Birth Kin, Plant allies, Mineral teachers, Animal guides and Land Ancestors to commune with us. Earth is a living visual language system - mycelial threads spreading like veins under soil, striated inscriptions written on tree bark, or the sweeping meander of a river are all ancient communication networks.
The Ancestors may emerge through the paintings as communications with your direct Kin, or with the many Mothers, Fathers, Grandmothers, Grandfathers and the Ancient Ones and Earth Ancestors who may come through the images to meet you. They may visit as powerful allies in the form of Animal, Insect, Plant and Mineral guides. Or from even older Ancestral realms of Ocean, Moss, Star, Sky, Mountain, Tree, Flower, Stone, Moon, River and more…
Painting with the Ancestors is a way of receiving these living communications and visually recording the voices of our wise Ancestors and their more than urgent messages for us.
Visual Medicine™ will throw open the doors to the creation realms of our Ancestors who are longing to speak with us.
You do not need any prior experience of art making or painting to connect with the energies of Creation.

About Suzette Clough
I am a trained psychotherapist and artist. This year I am celebrating 54 years of painting - it has been the most consistent practice of my adult life.
My practice as an artist is about learning the language of the material world and how our world not only speaks to us through materiality, but how it wants to speak to us - co-creatively, oracularly and communicatively.
Giving visual shape and conceptual form to Visual Medicine™ continues to be both a life-affirming, and life-defining experience for me.
There is nothing we have to change about who we are to be quantumly creative - it is written in our DNA.

Over the five sessions of PAINTING WITH THE ANCESTORS you will learn how to paint and journal with Visual Medicine™ and to work with the images as portals to converse with the Ancestors as your timeless guides and soul allies.
YOU WILL LEARN HOW TO:
Mix paints and set up a home studio in-a-box! (you don’t need lots of space - a kitchen table or an even smaller space will be big enough)
You will create at least 100 paintings or more…
Create a Visual Medicine™ journal alive with your Ancestor images, notes and insights.
Learn a creative mindfulness practice that allows you to ground yourself in a deeply nourishing creative spiritual practice that you can also practice by yourself.
Tap into the Ancestral oracular wisdom that is held for you within your own Visual Medicine paintings.

JOINING INFORMATION
Once you’ve signed up you will receive Zoom links, a MATERIALS LIST explaining what you will need and a short video showing you how to mix your paints, and how to set up your painting space. You do not need a huge studio space - a kitchen table is ideal, or a space on the floor is also great. You can adapt Visual Medicine to work anywhere including very small spaces. I will show you how to do this in the introduction video.
In the first session we will cover all the practicalities of how to mix the right consistency of paint, tearing paper and all that you need to create! There will also be a private Facebook group to share your images, thoughts and insights.
